HEALTH ADMINISTRATION MAJOR (501, 501D) AND MINOR


This program is designed to accommodate the needs of traditional, nontraditional, and transfer students.

The health administration (501, 501D) major prepares students for entry-level positions leading to a career path in administration. Students learn to address administrative and managerial problems in health systems, hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, medical practices, post-acute care facilities, and other healthcare delivery settings. Students learn about the challenges and innovative solutions, frameworks and methods regarding financial, operations, quality, informational systems and patient experience challenges in healthcare today as well as the policies, laws, and regulations governing institutional management and resulting in best practices and improved clinical and organizational outcomes. They also learn about the ethical context in which administrative decisions are made in the healthcare field.  

Upon completing all degree requirements, the student will receive the bachelor of science (B.S.) degree.
