ACADEMIC ADVISING
All incoming and current School of Engineering students are advised by the School of Engineering Office of Academic Services and the department faculty members (for upper-class students who have declared a major). Students are welcome to connect with any deans or advisor in the Office of Academic Services and are not restricted to seeing one specific advisor.
Students are required to consult their advisors at least once each semester prior to registering for the next semester. Students must assume full responsibility for conforming to the academic regulations of the school and for taking specific courses required in the appropriate semester for the chosen curriculum. Students are responsible for reviewing their record to confirm that they have the proper prerequisites for any course for which they register. Students are encouraged to consult the deans and advisers at School of Engineering Office of Academic Services and members of the engineering faculty for advice regarding their educational or professional development.
Degree Navigator. Students should routinely review their progress using the Degree Navigator (DN) system throughout their undergraduate study at Rutgers Engineering. DN provides useful information for monitoring progress in the major, the minor, and the School of Engineering general education curriculum. It's meant to be used as a reference and a planning tool, not a substitute for consultation with an academic advisor.
